SDGs Promotion Office Bicycle Team Holds First "Bicycle Transfer Fair"

On April 16, the Bicycle Team of the SDGs Promotion Office held its first "Bicycle Transfer Fair." Since its establishment in April 2025, the team has been working to address the issue of abandoned bicycles on campus and to promote a mindset of valuing resources and belongings. At the core of these efforts is the development and operation of a circular platform called "糖心Vlog视频 Chalinder," which connects graduating students wishing to give up their bicycles with new students in need of one. In building the platform, organizing the legal procedures associated with ownership transfer and clarifying responsibilities posed challenges. The students carefully developed the system by holding repeated discussions with relevant university departments and conducting interviews with local bicycle retailers that handle bicycle anti-theft registration systems. In addition, they have actively engaged in awareness-raising efforts through their official Instagram account, providing guidance on proper bicycle disposal and sharing the platform's terms of use.
Between February and March 2026, the team called for bicycle donations, mainly from graduating students, and collected a total of six bicycles. During the collection process, some graduates requested to have photos taken with their well-used bicycles, offering moments to reflect on the personal memories attached to each one. The transfer event was held during lunchtime on April 16 on the lawn in front of the University Hall, with six participants--mainly new students who had registered in advance--taking part. While inspecting the bicycles in person, they received bikes filled with the memories of their previous owners.

Through this pilot initiative, we are very pleased to have been able to connect graduating students and new students through bicycles. Although this was a limited trial with a small number of bicycles, we hope to expand this platform into a more fully developed system and contribute to the realization of a circular society on campus.
